Transcribing work at St. Rhedyw Cemetery, Llanllyfni is progressing!

Over the past two days, a small team of members of the Society have been at St Rhedyw's cemetery, Llanllyfni, starting work on recording the cemetery. Work began back in April with the preparation of plans for various sections of the cemetery, focusing on the oldest part first.

Many thanks to the local Council for arranging for some of the vegetation to be cut back to allow us access to some of the graves!

The easiest way to record these days is to photograph the graves and then type up the details, following the numbering procedure on the plan. Then there will be another check in the cemetery before we start creating an index of names, places, occupations etc.

BUT the work is not finished! We will go back there in two weeks to keep checking and recording. Anyone is welcome to join us, and if you can't come to Llanllyfni we are always looking for people to type up the grave details from the pictures (we can send them to you on usb).
