How to join the GFHS
New members are always welcome. Membership is open to all family historians and those with a general interest in family history. We offer a range of membership options, depending on whether you live in the UK or Overseas.
Membership
- The membership year runs from the 1st of January to the 31st of December and renewal of membership is due the following January
- If you join during November or December your initial membership payment will be deemed to be for the following year and renewal will not be required for 13/14 months
- Anyone joining between January to October will receive all literature and magazines issued by the Society since the start of that year
- If you do not renew your membership by the 31st of January of the current year, your membership will cease until the subscription is paid

Create an Account
The first step to membership is to create an account to login into the membership dashboard by entering your name, email and creating a password. These login details will be used to login to the “Your Account Dashboard” once your membership has been confirmed.
The second step is to fill in the online application form to subscribe and to pay for the membership.Once you have created your account you will then be redirected directly to the online membership form.
If you have chosen to pay by Bank Transfer or Cheque, you will receive an email detailing your membership number and providing information on how to pay. Should you chose to pay online by Pay Pal you will also receive a welcome email with your membership number.
Membership Packages
Our current membership packages are as follows:
- Single member - £18
- Family (for two persons living at the same address) - £22
- Overseas - £25
Payment Methods
Our payment methods are:
Bank Transfer (BACS) - please fill in the online form. and chose the BACS option. You will.be allocated a membership number (this will also be emailed to you). Please contact the Membership Secretary for the Society's Bank details.
Cheque - payable to GWYNEDD FAMILY HISTORY SOCIETY. Please fill in the online form and chose the cheque option. You will.be allocated a membership number (this will also be emailed to you). Send a cheque for the appropriate amount (please write your membership number on the back) to: Mr Gwilym Lewis, 17 Y Ddol, Bethel, Caernarfon, Gwynedd, LL55 1RE.
Pay Pal - Please fill in the Online form and choose PayPal. You do not need a PayPal account to use this payment method. Simply scroll below the PayPal log in button and select Pay by Credit or Debit Card. You will.be allocated a membership number by the Society (this will also be emailed to you).
Standing Order - Membership renewals only. Please select Renew Membership in the Your Account Dashboard..
Gift Aid
Are you a member who is also a UK Income Taxpayer? If so, please consider helping the Society to obtain some extra revenue at no additional cost to yourself. By completing this Gift Aid Declaration,
Welcome pack
We look forward to receiving your payment and confirming your membership. You will receive a welcome pack through the post and have access to all the benefits of the Society including our Journal, branch meetings and the member dashboard on our website.
