Welcome to our new website!
We’re delighted to announce that we have launched a brand-new website! We are very proud to unveil this modern, bilingual, dynamic, and exciting new digital home for the Society – https://www.chtgwyneddfhs.cymru
We hope that you’ll be pleased with the new website, which will continue to be developed over the coming weeks and months.
Here are some of the highlights of the new website:
- Order and pay for our publications from our online shop. The publications include monumental inscriptions from churchyards and chapel cemeteries across Gwynedd and indexes to selected parish registers and copies of our journal “Gwreiddiau Gwynedd Roots”

- The website lists all the Society’s upcoming events, organised by members of our six branches and located around Gwynedd, Anglesey and Merioneth. An exciting new development has been the Zoom meetings that were introduced to our members as an alternative events programme during the Covid pandemic. The society has now decided to continue these meetings on a permanent basis. Why not join the society to enjoy some of our talks from a wide range of excellent speakers.
- Keep up to date with our latest news, including updates on our cemetery transcribing projects and the work of our branches. You may be inspired to volunteer to help with one of the projects. All are welcome!
- Join the Society online and pay for your membership by PayPal and other payment options.
- If you are already a member, you can now access a new members dashboard where you can securely login to maintain your personal information and renew your membership online. You can also share your research interests and securely contact other members with the same interests as yourself. To login - go to “Your Account Dashboard” and choose the “Forgotten your password? Reset it now” link.. Enter the e-mail that you used when joining the Society and press “Reset”. You will receive an e-mail from the website which will give you a temporary password that you can use to login to the site. You can change your password to something unique by using the Change Password link in the "Your Account Dasboard".
- Search through a list of the books and journals kept at the Society’s Resource Centre in Caernarfon and if you are a member request a loan service. Members can also request a free certificate from our large collection of birth, marriage and death certificates which have been donated to the society.
- Contact the Librarian and make use of the six free annual look up request service. Members can provide us with the names and known dates and we’ll check for information in any of our publications, manuscript collections or books. This is very useful for those members who are unable to visit our resource centre.
